Cincinnati Zoo vaccinates 80 animals against COVID-19

Zoo animals in Cincinnati get there 2nd vaccinates agisan COVID- 19.


On Monday the Cincinnati Zoo announced that 80 of it's animals got there two doses of the Covid- 19 vaccinates.


In a press release, the Cincinnati Zoo said it's been vaccinating red pandas, big cats, bearcats, and others. They also vaccinating cats and dogs. The technicians said that for weeks they been getting the animals "comfortable with everything that they would see and feel when they got the injections" and wil not be giving anesthesia when the shot is giving.


The Cincinnati Zoo Director of Animal Health Dr. Mark Campbell said “We were concerned that the fresh memory of the first injection would make animals less willing to offer a shoulder or thigh for the second round, but they did!”


The remaining animals will get there vaccine in a week or two.


As animals are now able to get boths doses of the vaccines, since the start of the pandemic, COVID-19 has spread in zoos, frams, and more.
