A man was shot then found at a BestBuy parking lot. The location on were the man was shot is unkown.
The person shot in this is undergoing surgery at a local hospital. Witnesses told investigators that they saw the victim in the parking lot at the Bestbuy in La Quinta, as of now the location of were the shooting happen had been unknow.
It was first reported at 5:31pm public information officer for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, has confirmed that they had received several calls reproting a man shot at the parking lot.
According to the Sheriff's Dept., two people were involved in a dispute which ultimately resulted in one of the subjects shooting the other. Both subjects fled the scene prior to deputies arriving.
A short time later, a local hospital called and told law enforcement that a person had arrived with a gunshot wound. Soto confirmed that this was the person in the Best Buy parking lot.
Soto added that the victim called a short time later from the city of Coachella reporting that he had been shot at a park near JFK in Indio.
Indio PD and Sheriff's Dept. officials later confirmed that the information on the shooting location was inaccurate
